South superstar Vijay’s much-anticipated sci-fi thriller, Greatest Of All Time (GOAT), is making waves even before its official release. The film, directed by Venkat Prabhu and set to hit theaters on September 5, has already garnered substantial attention in advance ticket sales.
As of 4 PM on September 3, the film’s domestic advance bookings have reached a staggering ₹12.44 crore, with blocked seats pushing the total amount to ₹15.66 crore, according to a report by Sacnilk. This impressive figure underscores the high expectations surrounding the movie, which marks a significant milestone for Vijay’s career.
Greatest Of All Time is anticipated to be one of Vijay’s final films before he shifts his focus entirely to politics. In February of this year, Vijay announced his foray into politics with the formation of his own party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
The film’s advance ticket sales reflect a strong start, with approximately 5.79 lakh tickets sold for Tamil 2D shows, 7,000 for Telugu 2D shows, and around 2,600 for IMAX 2D shows, bringing the total pre-sale figures to around 5.9 lakh tickets, as reported by Sacnilk.
The movie’s success is not confined to India alone. Internationally, Greatest Of All Time has already crossed the $1 million mark, with advance ticket sales in the USA reaching approximately $300,000. This global interest adds to the film’s buzz, promising a robust opening both domestically and overseas.
The film features a stellar cast including Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Ajmal Ameer. It is produced by Kalpathi S Suresh, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Aghoram, with music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
The teaser for Greatest Of All Time was unveiled on Vijay’s 50th birthday, June 22, revealing the actor in a double role. Fans eagerly await the film’s release, which is expected to set new records at the box office.
