Shah Rukh Khan’s latest cinematic venture, ‘Jawan,’ continues to dazzle at the box office, smashing records and captivating audiences across India. The film, directed by Atlee and boasting a star-studded cast featuring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, has crossed the impressive ₹518 crore milestone at the domestic box office in just 14 days since its release on September 7.
According to Sacnilk.com, ‘Jawan’ exhibited its box office dominance with a staggering ₹389.88 crore collection in its first week in India. Broken down by language, the film earned ₹347.98 crore in Hindi, ₹23.86 crore in Tamil, and ₹18.04 crore in Telugu. The momentum didn’t stop there, as ‘Jawan’ continued its winning streak, accumulating ₹19.1 crore on day 9, ₹31.8 crore on day 10, ₹36.85 crore on day 11, ₹16.25 crore on day 12, and ₹14.4 crore on day 13.
The 14th day of its theatrical run in India also saw impressive returns, with ‘Jawan’ estimated to have garnered ₹10 crore nett in collections for all languages, as per early estimates. The cumulative box office collection now stands at a remarkable ₹518.28 crore, catapulting ‘Jawan’ to the status of the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film.
The film’s success extends far beyond Indian borders, as ‘Jawan’ has set ablaze the global box office, accumulating an astounding ₹907.54 crore in just 13 days since its release. Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house behind the film, celebrated this remarkable achievement on their official social media platform, hailing Shah Rukh Khan as the reigning box office king.
At a recent press conference in Mumbai, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his joy at ‘Jawan’s’ triumph, saying, “It’s a celebration. We rarely get a chance to live with a film for years. The making of ‘Jawan’ has been going on for four years due to Covid and time constraints. There were a lot of people involved in this film, especially people from the South who came and settled in Mumbai and have been living in Mumbai for the last four years and working day and night for this film, which is the hardest work ever.”
‘Jawan,’ billed as a high-octane action thriller, tells the story of a man on a mission to rectify societal wrongs. Shah Rukh Khan delivers a powerful performance in dual roles as Vikram Rathore and his son Azad. The film also features special appearances by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt.
