The Mumbai Police has tracked down the origin of a threatening Facebook post aimed at Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal and targeting actor Salman Khan to a European country. The police suspect the involvement of a member from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, speculated to be operating overseas. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the credibility of the threat, with authorities considering the possibility of a prank.
A police official stated, “We had reached out to Facebook, and they confirmed the post and account originated from a European Country. Further information will be pursued.” Authorities are diligently probing the authenticity of the threat while also examining potential connections to a recent shooting incident in Vancouver for any meaningful leads.
The alarming Facebook message, posted by an account under gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s name, directly addressed Gippy Grewal, cautioning him about seeking Salman Khan’s aid. It warned Salman Khan against expecting protection from any quarters and hinted at Grewal being on their radar, promising further action. Grewal previously reported gunfire near his residence in Vancouver, an incident claimed by Bishnoi.
Grewal, distancing himself from Salman Khan, highlighted minimal interactions with the actor, even as Salman’s security cover escalated to Y-Plus since November 2022. Additionally, Salman has obtained a personal weapon license and purchased a bulletproof vehicle for enhanced safety measures.
This recent threat echoes an earlier email received by Salman Khan’s personal assistant in April 2023, leading to increased security around the actor’s residence. A case was registered against Lawrence Bishnoi, his associate Goldy Brar, and another individual for allegedly menacing Salman Khan.
