Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 has proven to be a box office success, crossing the ₹80 crore milestone in just six days. The film, which is the much-awaited sequel to the 2018 hit Raid, continues to draw solid numbers, reflecting strong audience support and anticipation. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film brought back Devgn in the role of Amay Patnaik, with Vaani Kapoor starring as his wife, Malini Patnaik, alongside Riteish Deshmukh, who plays the antagonist, Manohar Dhankar aka Dada Manohar Bhai.
On Day 6, the film grossed ₹6.75 crore, taking its total collection to ₹85.5 crore, as reported by Sacnilk. The box office performance is considered rock solid, with the film’s steady collection indicating a strong hold over its audience. Raid 2 saw varied occupancy across the day, with the morning shows registering a modest 7.15% occupancy, while the night shows witnessed a peak at 24.17%. The afternoon and evening shows were also solid, recording 14.25% and 15.75% occupancy, respectively.
Trade analysts have already declared Raid 2 a success. Taran Adarsh, a Bollywood trade expert, confirmed on Twitter that Raid 2 has officially become a hit. He noted that the crucial Monday collections proved that the film’s extended weekend success was not just a one-off and that the film would continue to perform well through the week.
Adarsh also pointed out that the box office is returning to “normalcy” with films like Raid 2, Kesari Chapter 2, and Jaat consistently attracting audiences. Notably, all three films feature Bollywood superstars from the 1990s—Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and Sunny Deol—further emphasizing their lasting appeal in today’s market.
In terms of its week-one performance, Raid 2 has been impressive, with the film earning ₹81.30 crore in just five days, and a projected total of ₹95 crore or more for its first week. The first week numbers include ₹19.71 crore on Thursday, ₹13.05 crore on Friday, ₹18.55 crore on Saturday, ₹22.52 crore on Sunday, and ₹7.47 crore on Monday.
Produced by T-Series Films and Panorama Studios, Raid 2 has already established itself as a solid box office performer and is expected to continue doing well in the coming weeks, cementing its position as one of the major successes of the year.
