Amid swirling rumors about their separation, actor Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have reconciled after she reportedly filed for divorce six months ago. The couple’s lawyer, Lalit Bindal, confirmed the development, assuring fans that their 37-year-long marriage remains intact.
In an interview with India Today, Bindal stated that while Sunita had indeed initiated divorce proceedings, the couple resolved their differences and are now together. He revealed that they even traveled to Nepal to celebrate the New Year and performed a puja at the Pashupatinath Mandir. “Everything is fine between them now. Such things happen between couples, but they are going strong and will always be together,” Bindal said.
Govinda’s nephew, actor Krushna Abhishek, also dismissed the divorce rumors, telling SCREEN that a split was “not possible” and that the couple would “never do this.” His niece, actress Arti Singh, echoed the sentiment in an interview with News18, calling the rumors “false” and urging people to stop spreading misinformation about their personal lives.
Govinda and Sunita tied the knot in March 1987 but kept their marriage a secret until after the birth of their daughter, Tina, in 1988. They later welcomed their son, Yashvardhan, in 1997.
