“Coca-Cola Reacts as Diljit Dosanjh Switches Alcohol References to ‘Coke’ During Hyderabad Performance”

Diljit Dosanjh Replaces Alcohol Lyrics with Coca-Cola During Hyderabad Concert, Coca-Cola Responds

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh recently garnered attention and unexpected publicity for Coca-Cola by tweaking the lyrics of his songs during a concert in Hyderabad. The move came in response to a directive from Telangana authorities asking performers to avoid songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence.

Lyrics Tweaked to Avoid Alcohol References

During the concert, Diljit replaced references to alcohol with mentions of Coca-Cola in several of his songs. For instance, the line “5 tara theke” was changed to “5 tara hotel,” and “daaru ‘ch lemonade” became “Coke ‘ch lemonade.” Similarly, in his hit song Pehle Lalkare, the phrase “Dooja kamm bottlaan de datt pattne” was modified to “Dooja kamm Coke de datt pattne.”

The changes, which Diljit delivered with a grin, left the audience amused and garnered significant attention on social media. Fans applauded the singer for his creativity in adhering to the guidelines without compromising on entertainment.

Coca-Cola’s Response

Coca-Cola India’s official Instagram account responded to the viral clip from Diljit’s performance. The brand added a playful comment under a video shared by the “teamdiljitglobal” page, writing: “Chautha kaam twade gaane japne (fourth task is worshipping your songs),” accompanied by a smiley face and heart emoji.

The comment delighted fans and further boosted Coca-Cola’s association with the concert.

Social Media Buzz

Social media users were quick to highlight the marketing win for Coca-Cola. Several posts on X (formerly Twitter) pointed out how the brand gained substantial publicity through Diljit’s improvisation. One user called it “a once-in-a-lifetime free offer for Coca-Cola,” while another remarked, “Coke has made incredible impressions with the recent tweak in lyrics by Diljit.”

A Win-Win Situation

Diljit’s lyric modifications not only complied with local regulations but also showcased his adaptability and humor. The impromptu promotion for Coca-Cola has since been widely discussed, underscoring the singer’s influence and the brand’s fortuitous spotlight.
