Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth, who recently got engaged, have shared new details about their romantic proposal. In an exclusive interview with Vogue India, Aditi opened up about the heartfelt moment when Siddharth proposed to her in a setting that held special significance for her.
Aditi disclosed that Siddharth’s proposal took place at a location deeply connected to her past. “I was closest to my nani, who passed away a few years ago. She started a school in Hyderabad,” Aditi explained. Siddharth, knowing the importance of this place to her, wanted to visit the school and see where she spent time as a child.
During their visit in March, Siddharth took Aditi to the exact spot where she used to spend her time, a floor above the nursery section. It was there that he surprised her by getting down on one knee. Aditi recounted the moment with fondness, “He got down on his knee and I asked him, ‘Now what have you lost? Whose shoelaces are open?’ He kept saying, ‘Addu, listen to me’. And then he proposed. He said he wanted to bring me to my favorite childhood place, one with my grandmother’s blessings.”
The couple announced their engagement on Instagram, each sharing a post showcasing their rings. The engagement ring featured two solitaires: one round and one teardrop-shaped, while Siddharth’s band had a distinctive red line running through it. Aditi’s Instagram post was captioned, “He said yes! E. N. G. A. G. E. D,” and Siddharth echoed the sentiment with his own post, “She said yes! E. N. G. A. G. E. D.”
Aditi and Siddharth have kept their relationship relatively private, with rumors of their romance first emerging from their collaboration on the film Maha Samundram in 2021. They made their official red carpet debut together at the screening of the web show Jubilee last year. Aditi was previously married to actor Satyadeep Mishra, who is now married to fashion designer Masaba.
