Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan finally had the opportunity to watch his latest film, “Kalki 2898 AD,” with his son Abhishek Bachchan. The Nag Ashwin directorial, featuring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone alongside Amitabh, has been making waves at the box office since its release last week, earning accolades for its stunning visuals and powerful performances.
Abhishek Bachchan took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle in the early hours of Monday to express his awe for “Kalki 2898 AD.” Sharing a ‘mind-blown’ emoticon, Abhishek wrote, “#Kalki2898AD = 🤯 Wow!” He watched the film with his father the previous evening, as detailed in Amitabh Bachchan’s latest blog post.
Amitabh Bachchan shared his experiences from a busy Sunday, which included his traditional meet-and-greet with fans outside his residence, Jalsa. Following this, he visited an IMAX theatre in Mumbai to watch “Kalki 2898 AD” with friends. In his blog, Amitabh expressed his delight at experiencing the film on the big screen and praised the theatre’s impressive facilities.
“A Sunday of Sundays .. the well wishers at GOJ and then to Kalki with some friends to see on big screen .. seeing film for first time .. and the experience of an IMAX, and the facilities and environ at the theatre .. so impressive , the elegance and aesthetics in the facility .. had not been out for years .. but so satisfying to be out to witness all the progress,” Amitabh wrote.
In his blog, Amitabh also shared some candid moments with Abhishek. One picture showed Amitabh sitting inside the hall, waving at someone, while another captured Abhishek blowing a kiss in his father’s direction. Amitabh humorously noted, “Gatsby .. and son fooling around .. and the IDFC bank ad., that Abhishek and I did .. so much to say .. but its getting to 5:16 am.”
The veteran actor concluded his post with reflections on music, particularly enjoying the works of Shujaat Hussain Khan. He described the music as a “chord that connects us to the Almighty ..sublime.”
“Kalki 2898 AD” has been a commercial success, grossing ₹302.4 crore nett in India across all languages since its release on June 27. Amitabh plays the role of Ashwatthama in the film, which continues to draw audiences with its engaging storyline and high production values.
