Kannada superstar Yash has officially started shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s much-anticipated epic film Ramayana. The actor will be seen playing the role of Ravana in the grand retelling of the mythological saga.
Yash Joins Ramayana Shoot in Mumbai
According to reports, Yash landed in Mumbai and began shooting for Ramayana – Part 1 on February 21. Before stepping onto the set, he underwent two days of costume trials. The current shooting schedule primarily focuses on large-scale war sequences, with some pivotal battle scenes being filmed at Aksa Beach in Mumbai. Following this, the production will shift to a studio in Dahisar for additional scenes.
Grand War Sequences and High-End VFX
The war portions in Ramayana are being designed on a grand scale, with choreography that showcases Ravana’s strategic brilliance. A mix of green screen technology and real-location shots will be used, with extensive VFX integration to create the legendary battles. While this schedule does not include Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama, other key actors have joined Yash for this segment of filming.
Yash’s Royal Look: Costumes Made with Real Gold
In line with mythology, where Lanka is often referred to as the “Golden City,” Yash’s costumes are being designed using real gold. The elaborate outfits are crafted by renowned designers Harpreet and Rimple. Last year, a source close to IANS revealed that the film aims to maintain authenticity in its depiction of Ravana’s grandeur, which is why actual gold is being incorporated into the costume design.
