At the audio launch event for his highly anticipated film Thangalaan, Vikram shared a deeply personal account of his battle with physical adversity. The actor, known for his powerful performances, revealed that his role in Thangalaan was the most challenging he has ever undertaken, reflecting on his own journey of overcoming severe health issues.
During the event, Vikram candidly discussed his past struggles, stating, “In an accident, my leg was broken, and doctors said I would never walk again. I was in the hospital for 3 years and had to undergo 23 surgeries, but due to passion and self-confidence, I bounced back.” His emotional revelation left both fans and cast members in awe, highlighting the extraordinary resilience he demonstrated in his personal life.
The film Thangalaan sees Vikram portraying the leader of a tribal community in a story set during the 19th century pre-Independence era. The film is based on real-life events and depicts the struggle of the KGF residents to protect their mines from British colonizers, showcasing their innovative ways to avoid exploitation.
Co-star Parvathy Thiruvothu expressed admiration for Vikram, noting, “It has been a dream to work with him, and he is by far the best co-star I have had the pleasure of working with.”
Thangalaan, which also features Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathi, Muthukumar, Hari Krishnan, Preethi, Arjun Prabhakaran, and Hollywood actor Daniel Goldragon, is set to release on August 15. The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The release date was rescheduled from January and April to August 15. The music for the film is composed by GV Prakash and produced by Studio Green.
