Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal, who is currently promoting his upcoming romantic-comedy Bad Newz, took a moment to reflect on his 12-year journey in the film industry. Kaushal, who began his career as an assistant director (AD) in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur, shared a heartfelt post on Instagram that resonated with fans and colleagues alike.
In his Instagram post, Vicky shared two contrasting photos. The first picture is a throwback from his audition days, showing him holding a slate board with his name, age, height, date of birth, and other information. The second photo captures a more recent moment, where he is seen greeting a crowd with folded hands while standing on the roof of his car. He captioned the post, “This day, 12 years apart… nothing is overnight. Ever so grateful for all your love and blessings. ❤️🙏.”
The post received an outpouring of love and support from fellow actors and fans. Mrunal Thakur commented, “My heart is so happy for you @vickykaushal09 🙏.” Actor-casting director Abhishek Banerjee noted, “Yeh slate pehchana pehchana sa lag rah hai (This slate board seems familiar).” Producer Guneet Monga expressed her joy, “My heart is sooo full… god bless ❤️❤️.” Ranveer Singh added, “Yaar (buddy),” accompanied by teary-eyed and heart emojis.
Actress Richa Chadha, reminiscing about their time during the production of Gangs of Wasseypur, wrote, “Gangs of Wasseypur AD look ❤️.” For those unaware, Vicky Kaushal worked as an assistant director in the iconic film and even made a brief appearance as a background silhouette in one of the scenes.
Fans were quick to commend Vicky’s inspiring journey. One user commented, “From that young dreamer at 24 to the superstar you are today, your journey is nothing short of incredible. Your hard work, talent and perseverance have truly paid off. So proud of how far you’ve come and excited for all the amazing things ahead. Keep shining my dear one!”
