In a much-anticipated announcement, Tamil superstar Suriya has confirmed his next project with director Venky Atluri and producer Naga Vamsi. The confirmation came at the pre-release event of his upcoming film Retro in Hyderabad, where Suriya shared his excitement for this collaboration, calling it a “beautiful association” with “beautiful talent.”
Addressing fans at the event, Suriya spoke about his next Tamil film and revealed the start date for the much-awaited project, which will kick off in May. He said, “I have to announce this today. I had to start with Allu Arvind garu, the whole journey started with him. With his blessings, you have been waiting for this announcement. We are associating with Sithara Entertainments, Vamsi, and my dear brother Venky here.”
Suriya further added, “This will be my next. As you’ve all been asking for a long time, with a beautiful association and beautiful talent, we will be doing my next Tamil film with Venky. I will be spending a lot of time here in beautiful Hyderabad. From May onwards, we start our next. We need all your love, we need all your blessings. This will be a beautiful journey.”
The film, tentatively titled Suriya46, will be produced under the banner of Sithara Entertainments. Venky Atluri, who is known for his successful directorial ventures, shared his excitement about the collaboration on Instagram, calling it a privilege to work with Suriya. He wrote, “Absolutely privileged and very excited to collaborate with the phenomenal @actorsuriya sir for his next, #Suriya46. Looking forward to sharing this unique journey with you all soon! Suriya’s Upcoming Film Retro Set to Release on May 1
Apart from announcing his new project, Suriya also spoke about his upcoming film Retro, which is set for release on May 1. He shared an inspiring message, saying, “You don’t lose when you fall down, you lose when you refuse to get up. We will bounce back big time, and we will give that strong punch once again. May 1st will be a beautiful film for you, which you all will cherish. We will definitely make sure this time it will be wonderful entertainment in the theatre.”
Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, features a star-studded ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj, with Shriya Saran making a special cameo. The film, a gripping thriller with elements of time travel, marks Suriya’s first collaboration with Karthik Subbaraj and promises to be an exciting cinematic experience.
