Suniel Shetty Shares Heartfelt Message on Becoming a Grandfather: ‘Holding Her, Nothing Else Matters’

Suniel Shetty Pens Heartfelt Note on Becoming a Grandfather: ‘When I Hold Her, Nothing Else Matters’

Veteran actor and entrepreneur Suniel Shetty is embracing a new chapter in life — that of a grandfather. In a deeply emotional and reflective post shared on LinkedIn, Shetty opened up about the unparalleled joy of welcoming his granddaughter, born to his daughter Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul on March 24.

Sharing his feelings with remarkable vulnerability, Shetty wrote about how becoming a grandfather has shifted his perspective on life, bringing clarity and contentment that years of chasing success could not offer. “It’s funny how life works,” he wrote. “You spend years chasing things you think will make you happy… more money, the perfect comeback, more recognition. But you know what I’ve learned? That real joy mainly comes from the simplest of things.”

The actor reflected on decades spent building a career in films and business, only to realize that holding his granddaughter surpasses all achievements. “When I hold my granddaughter, none of that matters. The race to have more fades… You realise what truly matters.”

Suniel also shared a nostalgic glimpse into his childhood in Mangalore, recalling barefoot summers, open fields, and family meals made with love. “The joy came from being with family, from nature, from laughter that didn’t cost a thing,” he added, while admitting that the hustle of adulthood momentarily blurred those memories.

Despite his continued ambition and upcoming film projects, Shetty revealed that the birth of his granddaughter has given him a renewed sense of peace. “With this little one in my arms… I find myself feeling lighter. More content. It’s like a reminder from life, telling me to keep things simple.”

The post has resonated deeply with fans and professionals alike, many of whom praised Shetty’s honesty and the emotional depth of his words.

On the work front, Suniel Shetty was last seen in Naadaniyan, playing Khushi Kapoor’s father. He will next be seen in Welcome to the Jungle, an ensemble comedy directed by Ahmed Khan, also starring Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and others. Additionally, he is set to return in Priyadarshan’s much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3.

As Shetty beautifully puts it, perhaps life’s greatest roles are the ones played off-screen — in the quiet, joyful moments that redefine purpose and happiness.
