The latest installment in the horror-comedy franchise, Stree 2, has continued to make waves at the box office, despite experiencing a significant drop in earnings on its second Wednesday. As reported by Sacnilk, the film earned ₹23 lakh on Day 14, bringing its total domestic box office collection to an impressive ₹414.78 crore.
Released on August 15, Stree 2 stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, also features Aparshakti Khurrana, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Vijay Raaz, with a cameo appearance by Varun Dhawan. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande under the banners of Maddock Films and Jio Studios, the film has captivated audiences with its blend of humor and horror.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh highlighted the film’s performance on social media, noting its continued success. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Adarsh stated, “Stree 2 remains UNSTOPPABLE, capitalising on the partial holiday boost [#Janmashtami]… With no major releases on the horizon, the path ahead looks clear for the film to march towards the ₹500 crore mark.” He also shared the latest box office figures, detailing that the film earned ₹19.30 crore on Friday, ₹33.80 crore on Saturday, ₹40.75 crore on Sunday, and ₹20.20 crore on Monday, bringing the total to ₹421.85 crore in India.
In an exclusive conversation with NDTV’s Abira Dhar, Aparshakti Khurana, who plays Bittu in Stree 2, expressed his excitement over the film’s unprecedented success. “When we were shooting, we knew we were doing something very nice and special and happy. But we did not know that the movie would touch 400 crores in just a week or that we would receive so much love from the people. It is such a happy vibe. I really pinch myself to believe this is where we have reached with the film. We knew we would do good numbers, but these are unprecedented numbers.”
