Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar and debutant Veer Pahariya, has officially crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone at the box office. After a strong start in its opening week, the film saw a major boost on its second Saturday, with collections rising by over 60%. The film earned Rs 5 crore on Saturday, bringing its total earnings to an impressive Rs 100 crore.
Released on January 24, Sky Force had a successful opening, grossing Rs 12.25 crore on its first day, thanks to discounted ticket prices. The film enjoyed a notable increase during its opening weekend, with earnings jumping 79.59%, including Rs 22 crore on Saturday and Rs 28 crore on Sunday. However, the film experienced a significant 75% drop on Monday, earning only Rs 7 crore.
The film now faces fresh competition at the box office with the release of Shahid Kapoor’s Deva last Friday. Despite mixed reviews, Deva has emerged as the primary competitor in the Hindi film space, earning Rs 5.50 crore on its opening day and slightly increasing its earnings to Rs 6.25 crore on Saturday.
Moreover, upcoming releases like Loveyapa, starring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, and Badass Ravikumar starring Himesh Reshammiya, are expected to intensify competition for Sky Force in the coming weeks.
On Saturday, Sky Force started the day with 9% occupancy in morning shows, gradually increasing to 20% in the afternoon and 28% in the evening, reflecting a positive trend in audience interest.
Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, and produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Sky Force is notable not only for its box office performance but also as the acting debut of Veer Pahariya. Alongside him, the film features Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur in key roles, further adding to its star power.
With continued success at the box office, Sky Force has proven to be a solid performer, and fans are eagerly anticipating how it fares in the coming weeks, with more competition on the horizon.
