“Sky Force Box Office Day 7: Akshay Kumar’s Film Struggles to Cross Rs 100 Crore Mark in First Week”

Akshay Kumar’s latest action-packed film Sky Force has seen a challenging week at the box office, failing to reach the coveted Rs 100 crore mark by Day 7. Despite strong opening numbers, the film’s earnings dipped significantly in the second half of its first week.

Released on January 24, just before Republic Day, Sky Force had a promising start, grossing Rs 12.25 crore on its opening day. The weekend brought in solid figures, with the film earning Rs 22 crore on Saturday and Rs 28 crore on Sunday. However, the momentum slowed down drastically after the weekend, with Monday’s earnings dropping to Rs 7 crore.

According to Sacnilk, the film’s total earnings as of Day 7 stand at Rs 86.50 crore. On Thursday, Sky Force collected approximately Rs 5.50 crore, with a Hindi occupancy rate of just 11.84%. The drop in collections after the opening weekend is a concern for the film, as the competition heats up with the release of Shahid Kapoor’s Deva on January 31.

Trade analysts predict that the arrival of Deva, which has generated significant buzz, will further impact Sky Force’s box office performance in the coming days. Taran Adarsh, a prominent trade analyst, shared his thoughts, saying, “With Deva releasing tomorrow, it will be interesting to see how Sky Force holds up in the coming week, especially in the face of new competition.”

Sky Force tells the story of India’s retaliatory attack on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pak war, which is remembered as India’s first and deadliest airstrike. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, the film features Akshay Kumar and debutante Veer Pahariya as Indian Air Force (IAF) officers, with Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan also playing pivotal roles.

While the film started with strong expectations, its subsequent drop in earnings has raised questions about its box office prospects, especially as Sky Force goes head-to-head with other big releases in the coming weeks. Akshay Kumar, whose recent films have been facing mixed results, was hoping for a turnaround with this action-packed venture, but the numbers indicate that the road ahead might be tough.

As the week progresses, it remains to be seen whether Sky Force can sustain its earnings or if the new competition will dominate the box office.
