Ram Kapoor, widely recognized for his iconic role in the television show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, has made it clear that he has no intentions of returning to television. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Kapoor shared his enthusiasm for exploring a variety of projects in the OTT and film spaces, emphasizing his preference for diverse roles.
No Plans for Television Return
Kapoor, who gained immense popularity through his long-running television shows, revealed that he is currently focused on different forms of entertainment. “At the moment, no, I do not [plan to return to TV]. Because when you are lucky enough to do successful television shows like I was when each show lasted three or four years, you get stuck doing the same role for that long,” Kapoor explained.
He elaborated on his current career trajectory, highlighting his satisfaction with the varied roles he has been offered in OTT and film projects. “But now, since I have been accepted as a good and strong actor in OTT and in films, I am getting a wide variety of roles every year,” Kapoor noted. He expressed his enjoyment in working on projects that offer different experiences, contrasting this with the repetitive nature of long-term television roles.
Embracing New Challenges
Kapoor’s current focus is on his upcoming release, Yudhra, which continues his exploration of varied and dynamic roles. He emphasized the appeal of working on diverse projects and the creative freedom it affords. “I am doing several different projects that are so different from each other, so now, going back to one role for years is something that I cannot even imagine doing,” Kapoor added.
As the actor continues to make a mark in the OTT and film industries, his decision to steer clear of television reflects his commitment to evolving as an artist and embracing new challenges. Kapoor’s career move underscores a broader trend of established television actors expanding their horizons into other media, seeking more varied and engaging roles.
