The much-awaited sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, has achieved a milestone even before its release by securing the highest ticket prices ever for a Telugu film. Following the Andhra Pradesh government’s approval of a ticket price hike, actor Allu Arjun expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for their support of the Telugu film industry.
Allu Arjun’s Heartfelt Thanks
Allu Arjun took to social media platform X to express his appreciation. He wrote,
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for approving the ticket hike. This progressive decision demonstrates your steadfast commitment to the growth and prosperity of the Telugu film industry. A special note of thanks to the Hon’ble @AndhraPradeshCM, Shri @ncbn garu, for his vision and unwavering encouragement to the industry. Record-Breaking Ticket Prices
As per reports, the ticket prices for Pushpa 2’s paid previews, scheduled for December 4 at 9:30 PM, have been set at ₹944 (inclusive of GST) across single screens and multiplexes in Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, the government has approved six daily shows for the film at rates of ₹324.50 for single screens and ₹413 for multiplexes.
This pricing will continue for 12 days post-release, from December 6 to 17.
Controversy in Telangana
While Andhra Pradesh’s decision has been lauded by industry stakeholders, the Telangana government faced criticism for a similar price hike. Ticket prices for Pushpa 2 in Telangana have been set at ₹1,200 for paid previews, ₹531 for multiplexes, and ₹354 for single screens. This has led to a petition being filed against the price hike in the Telangana High Court, with the hearing scheduled for December 3.
