Actor Parvin Dabas is currently recovering in the ICU at Bandra Hospital, Mumbai, following a serious road accident that occurred on Saturday morning. His wife, actress Preeti Jhangiani, provided an update on his condition, revealing that he is exhibiting signs of a concussion, including dizziness, double vision, drowsiness, and nausea.
“He hasn’t been able to speak much. Thankfully, his medical reports, including MRI and CT scans, came back clear. He will remain in the hospital for another week but is expected to be out of the ICU soon. We plan to do another CT scan in three days,” Preeti told the Hindustan Times.
The accident came as a shock to the family, as Preeti noted that Parvin is usually very active and talkative about his work. “To see him lying down and not being his usual self is disturbing for the family,” she added.
Preeti explained that Parvin was driving after working through the night when a flash of headlights caused him to crash into a divider. Fortunately, he was near a hospital, and two bystanders were able to bring him in quickly for treatment.
In the wake of the accident, rumors surfaced regarding whether Parvin was under the influence of alcohol at the time. Preeti addressed these concerns, stating that a toxicology test was conducted and the results were negative, ruling out drunk driving. “He wasn’t drinking and driving. This has been confirmed in the police report. Parveen is strictly against drinking and driving or violating any rules,” she clarified.
Parvin Dabas, 50, made his acting debut in the 1999 film Dillagi and gained widespread recognition for his role in the critically acclaimed Monsoon Wedding (2001), directed by Mira Nair. Over the years, he has appeared in several notable films, including Ragini MMS 2, Khosla Ka Ghosla, and The Hero: Love Story Of A Spy, as well as works in Malayalam and Kannada cinema.
