Nita Ambani, founder and chairperson of Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS), delivered a heartwarming speech during the school’s annual day celebration, emphasizing gratitude toward the often-overlooked support staff.
In a gathering attended by Bollywood celebrities, business magnates, and high-profile guests, Nita Ambani highlighted the invaluable contributions of the teachers, security personnel, housekeeping staff, and more. “I would like to thank and congratulate the pillars of our school—our heads, teachers, staff, and all our bus didis, lift bhaiyas, housekeeping didis and bhaiyas, canteen staff, nurses, and security teams who are always there with a smile, welcoming and looking after our children,” she said, earning resounding applause from the audience.
A Special Mention for Housekeeping Staff
The Reliance Foundation chairperson’s recognition extended to all those who ensure the seamless functioning of the school. Her mention of the housekeeping staff, referred to affectionately as “didis and bhaiyas,” stood out as a heartfelt gesture that resonated with many.

The audience included notable Bollywood figures like Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Karan Johar, and Aishwarya Rai, whose children are enrolled at DAIS or Nita Mukesh Ambani Junior School (NMAJS).
Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, was also present, and his unwavering support was recognized by Nita Ambani. “Despite his busy schedule, Mukesh has never missed an annual day or graduation ceremony—that’s 37 annual days and 20 graduations till date,” she remarked, drawing further applause.
