Actor Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has broken his silence regarding his recent disappearance and subsequent return. In an exclusive interview with The Times of India, Singh clarified that his absence was not a publicity stunt but rather a spiritual journey prompted by personal introspection.
Singh went missing on April 22 this year from Delhi and returned home after 25 days, surprising fans and industry peers alike. Reflecting on his disappearance, he shared, “I have always been spiritual because of my parents, and at a low point in life, I turned towards God. I had no plans of returning, but a sign from God made me come back.”
Dispelling rumors of seeking publicity through his absence, Singh emphasized that if that were his intention, he would have addressed pending dues and issues publicly related to his work on the popular sitcom. Despite returning quietly, he felt compelled to address misconceptions now surfacing about his motives.
Expressing his desire to resume acting and clear his debts, Singh stated, “I am back and eager to work. I want to repay all my loans and debts through my work. I realize that I can continue my spiritual journey while fulfilling my responsibilities.”
Following his return, Singh was questioned by Delhi Police and his statement recorded before a local court. His sudden disappearance had sparked concerns and speculations within the industry and among his followers, which he hopes to address with transparency moving forward.
