"Fighter" Box Office: Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone Film Sees Resurgence in Second Weekend, Inches Toward ₹200 Crore Mark

The box office trajectory of the film “Fighter,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, has taken an unexpected turn, confounding industry experts. After a notable decline in the first week, the film experienced a remarkable spike during its second weekend, showcasing a rare resurgence in today’s cinema landscape. “Fighter,” which marks the first-ever on-screen pairing of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, initially collected over ₹123 crore in its extended opening weekend but faced a sharp dip in weekday earnings.

However, the film’s second weekend witnessed a significant boost, and according to Sacnilk, the current box office total in India stands at ₹175.75 crore. Industry analysts anticipate the film to surpass the ₹200 crore mark in the coming week. Directed by Siddharth Anand, “Fighter” portrays Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone as elite air force pilots, with pivotal roles played by Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh expressed surprise at the film’s bounce back, stating, “After a slump on weekdays, ‘Fighter’ fights back to retain its place at the Indian box office. The resurgence and revival in Weekend 2 – after a sharp dip in Week 1 – is a rarity in today’s times.” Adarsh highlighted the urban-rural divide in the film’s performance and emphasized the need for continued momentum to achieve better results.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), Taran Adarsh provided an update on the film’s day 10 box office collection, noting its solid growth on Saturday. He mentioned the film’s dependence on urban centers for sustained success and expressed optimism about its performance in the coming days.

Despite the initial challenges, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone have garnered appreciation from fans and industry colleagues. Actor R Madhavan recently praised the film, hailing it as an extraordinary and motivating contribution to Indian cinema. The cast and crew were commended for creating an international standard film, marking a significant milestone for the evolving landscape of Indian cinema.

As “Fighter” continues its box office journey, audiences eagerly await its performance in the weeks ahead, with the film positioned to make a lasting impact on the industry.
