Fardeen Khan, who was an integral part of the 2005 comedy hit No Entry, has finally addressed the buzz surrounding No Entry 2 and clarified that neither he nor the original cast will be part of the highly anticipated sequel. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Fardeen spoke about the casting changes, expressing his disappointment in a light-hearted manner.
When asked about his absence from the sequel, Fardeen cheekily responded, “You should call Boney Kapoor for this.” He continued, “I think it has been announced but we are not in it. It’s got a whole new star cast. So, damn it.”
Reflecting on No Entry Memories
During the interview, Fardeen also reminisced about his time working on No Entry. The actor shared how producer Boney Kapoor convinced him to take on a comedic role that was vastly different from his previous characters. Fardeen said, “As an actor, it was my first attempt at all-out comedy where I had to play a little silly, funny, and goofy character who’s not very smart but very vulnerable and naive. It was something very different from the way I saw myself.”
He added that it was Boney Kapoor’s faith in him that made him comfortable in the role. Kapoor had previously seen Fardeen perform some humorous scenes in Khushi, which convinced him that Fardeen was the right fit for the comedic role in No Entry. Fardeen recalled, “It was a remake of Charlie Chaplin (2002), and my role was played by Prabhu Deva. Of course, I interpreted it quite differently.”
Anees Bazmee’s Comedic Brilliance
Fardeen also reflected on the creative process behind No Entry, crediting director Anees Bazmee for his writing and the infectious energy on set. “There’s a lot you can do with the way he writes and the lines he gives you. A lot of the scenes, we couldn’t keep a straight face while doing them,” he said.
The actor also praised his co-stars Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and the female cast, including Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu, and Celina Jaitly, for their performances. Fardeen acknowledged that comedy is one of the hardest genres to execute, stating, “You can’t force the audience to laugh. Laughing is a spontaneous reaction. I cherish all my memories with No Entry, and it was a great learning experience for me.”
No Entry 2: A New Cast, New Beginnings
While fans of the original film are undoubtedly disappointed by the absence of the original cast, No Entry 2 will reportedly feature an entirely new lineup, with Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles. The original cast included Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, and several popular actresses such as Esha Deol and Bipasha Basu.
As the buzz around No Entry 2 continues, it’s clear that the legacy of the first film remains close to Fardeen Khan’s heart, even if he won’t be returning for the sequel.
