Actor Drashti Dhami, who is expecting her first child with husband Niraj Khemka in October this year, has taken to Instagram to address trolls who have been calling her baby bump ‘fake’. Ever since announcing her pregnancy on social media, Drashti has faced criticism from trolls who claimed her baby bump was ‘not visible’ and speculated that it was ‘fake’. To shut down the negativity, Drashti shared a video on Instagram flaunting her baby bump and proving the naysayers wrong.
On Wednesday night, Drashti posted a video of herself in a vibrant red kaftan ensemble, exuding elegance and grace. The expectant mother opted for a radiant no-makeup look, letting her luscious curls flow freely. Along with the video, Drashti wrote, “Here’s proof that my baby bump is not just a big lunch. For all those asking, can you see it now?”
The video quickly garnered love and support from netizens. Actor Mrunal Thakur commented, “Yayyyyyy cutie,” while Jankee Parekh Mehta wrote, “Hot mamma!” Fans and followers also showered Drashti with well wishes and blessings for her health and the baby’s well-being.
Last month, Drashti shared the news of her pregnancy through a heartwarming video. In the clip, Drashti and Niraj, dressed in striped clothes, hold a banner reading, “Could be Pink, Could be Blue. All we know is that we are due! October 2024.” The video shows the couple celebrating with family, who later replace champagne glasses with milk bottles, symbolizing the upcoming arrival.
Drashti and Niraj tied the knot in 2015 and even participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye together. Drashti made her television debut with the Star One show Dil Mill Gaye in 2007, and later gained fame with her role in Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi opposite Gurmeet Chaudhary in 2010. She rose to stardom with Madhubala–Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, where she starred opposite Vivian Dsena. More recently, she has appeared in web series such as The Empire and Duranga.
