Koratala Siva’s much-anticipated film Devara: Part 1, featuring Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan, is generating significant buzz even before its release. With the premiere set for September 26 in the US, advance bookings have already exceeded $500,000, according to the film’s USA distributors, Prathyangira Cinemas.
High Anticipation and Strong Pre-Sales
The advance ticket sales for Devara: Part 1 are marking a strong start. The film’s distributors shared the exciting news on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “#DEVARA RAMPAGE is painting the USA RED. Count has begun with $500K+ USA Premieres Pre-Sales and the MASS wave is unstoppable. #DevaraUSA #AllHailTheTIGER.” With the official release scheduled for September 27, the US premieres on September 26 are expected to boost these figures even further.
Janhvi Kapoor’s South Debut
Janhvi Kapoor, making her debut in Telugu cinema with Devara: Part 1, has expressed her excitement about working in the South Indian film industry. Kapoor, who has previously appeared in Bollywood hits like Dhadak, has signed two Telugu films. Speaking to PTI, she shared, “Somehow it makes me feel closer to my mom, to be in that environment, as well as to hear and speak in that language. It just felt like it was the right time, I felt I was gravitating towards it.”
About the Film
Devara: Part 1 features Jr NTR in the lead role, with Kapoor playing Thangam and Saif Ali Khan portraying Bhaira. The film also stars Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, and Narain. Initially planned as a standalone film, Devara has been divided into two parts. Given that this is Jr NTR’s first major project following the success of RRR, expectations are high. Booking for the film in India is expected to open at a later date.
