Varun Dhawan’s action-packed thriller Baby John continues to impress at the box office, with the film now crossing the ₹37 crore mark in its 11th day of release. The film, which is the official Hindi remake of the Tamil hit Theri, saw a slight growth in its box office performance on its second Saturday. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Baby John earned ₹80 lakhs on Day 11, bringing its total domestic collection to ₹37.75 crore.
The film, directed by Kalees, has garnered significant attention with its star-studded cast, including Varun Dhawan in the role of DCP Satya Verma, Keerthy Suresh as Dr. Meera Verma, Wamiqa Gabbi as IPS Adhira Verma, Jackie Shroff as Babbar Sher, and Rajpal Yadav as Head Constable Ram Sevak. The action thriller had an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 14.98% on January 4, which indicates a steady audience engagement despite competition from other releases.
Baby John marks the Bollywood debut of actress Keerthy Suresh, who plays a pivotal role in the film. During a recent interview, Keerthy revealed that it was her Mahanati co-star, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who recommended her for the role. Keerthy shared her gratitude for the recommendation, noting that Samantha’s own performance in the Tamil version of the film was one of her favorites. Keerthy also fondly recalled Samantha’s gesture of sharing the Baby John trailer on social media, which was a touching moment for her.
The film follows the story of a police officer, DCP Satya Verma, who goes into hiding to protect his daughter and give her a safe life. However, when his daughter’s life is threatened, he is forced to confront his troubled past.
