The pre-release event of the highly anticipated film “Kalki 2898 AD” witnessed Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan gracing the occasion with their presence. A heartwarming moment unfolded as Amitabh Bachchan purchased the first ticket of the film from the producer and presented it as a gift to his co-star Kamal Haasan.
During the event, Amitabh Bachchan invited Kamal Haasan onto the stage, expressing his affection and admiration for his colleague. “I will give it to my colleague, my dear friend, my brother Kamal Haasan,” Bachchan announced, symbolizing the camaraderie and respect shared between the two legendary actors.
In response, Kamal Haasan reminisced about his early days in the film industry, sharing an anecdote about eagerly waiting three weeks to watch the blockbuster film “Sholay.” He humorously remarked that he wished such a gesture had happened decades ago during the release of “Sholay,” reflecting on his journey from being a film technician to a prominent actor. “I waited three weeks to watch it. I never imagined I would be here receiving the first-day first show ticket from Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. I was a film technician then, and now I am an actor. Nothing has changed,” Haasan remarked with gratitude.
The star-studded event also showcased the impeccable fashion sense of the actors, with Deepika Padukone stunning in a halter-neck black dress, Prabhas exuding charm in a black shirt, Amitabh Bachchan rocking a striped jacket, and Kamal Haasan sporting a stylish beige-colored jacket.
“Kalki 2898 AD” has been generating excitement since its trailer release, with Prabhas sharing the trailer and inviting audiences to experience the future unveiled on June 27th, 2024, in theaters. Directed by Nag Ashwin, known for the National Award-winning biographical drama “Mahanati,” the film marks the first collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Prabhas, while also reuniting Padukone and Bachchan after their successful stint in “Piku” in 2015.
