Agastya Nanda, recently making his foray into acting with the Netflix film “The Archies,” is now poised for his grand entrance onto the silver screen in Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming biopic, “Ekkis.” This significant endeavor will see Agastya embody the valiant war hero Arun Khetarpal, shedding light on the father-son bond amid the backdrop of India’s historical events.

The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan, sets the stage to chronicle the remarkable life of Arun Khetarpal, a distinguished figure from the 1971 war. Dharmendra is also reported to play a pivotal role in this cinematic venture, adding depth and resonance to the narrative.

According to reports by Pinkvilla, Agastya Nanda is slated to commence shooting for “Ekkis” in January 2024, following a year that marked his acting debut in “The Archies” and a significant leap into the world of cinema.

Sources close to the production shared insights into Agastya’s preparatory journey, detailing his participation in acting workshops conducted by Sriram Raghavan himself. The actor diligently honed his craft under specialized coaches to authentically portray the persona of India’s revered war hero, Arun Khetarpal.

Director Sriram Raghavan, currently prepping for the release of “Merry Christmas,” featuring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, is gearing up to embark on this ambitious project. The film is scheduled for release in January 2024, marking the commencement of filming for his collaboration with Agastya Nanda.

The report unveils Agastya’s dedicated commitment to the role, dedicating December and early January to script readings and workshops, immersing himself in the essence of the character. Sriram Raghavan expressed his conviction in Agastya’s suitability for the role, aligning seamlessly with the vision to portray the heroic tale authentically on the silver screen.

“Ekkis” aspires to showcase a compelling narrative surrounding the India-Pakistan conflict during the 1971 war, highlighting the emotional connect between father and son in an army setting, with Agastya essaying the role of an army officer.

This project marks the second collaboration between Sriram Raghavan and producer Dinesh Vijan since their successful venture in “Badlapur” back in 2015, hinting at a potent synergy poised to bring forth a gripping cinematic experience.

Agastya Nanda’s initiation into the world of acting through “The Archies,” a musical comedy directed by Zoya Akhtar, alongside notable talents like Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Saigal, and Yuvraj Menda, unveiled his potential in the industry. The film, released on December 7, navigated the adventures of Archie and his gang set in 1960s India, exploring themes of friendship, romance, and the destiny of Riverdale.
