Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, fresh from attending the historic Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha event in Ayodhya, has revealed the release date for her much-anticipated film, “Emergency.” In a statement shared on Instagram, Kangana declared the film, which she directed and wrote, as her “most ambitious project.”
The new poster released by Kangana showcases her transformation into the formidable former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. The actress expressed her excitement about the project, stating, “Witness history come alive as the most feared and fiercest Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, thunders into cinemas. Emergency in cinemas on 14th June 2024.”
Originally slated for a November 24, 2023 release, the film faced a postponement due to Kangana’s schedule adjustments. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, “Emergency” is a mega-budget period drama depicting one of the most controversial periods in Indian democracy.
The star-studded cast includes Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik. Ritesh Shah has penned the screenplay and dialogues. The film focuses on the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, with Kangana taking on the titular role. “Emergency” marks Kangana’s solo directorial venture.
