He expressed disappointment at the certification, citing the necessity of certain cuts requested by the censor board, despite his intentions to avoid excessive violence. Neel affirmed, “I didn’t make a vulgar movie. The violence in the film serves a purpose.”
Addressing speculation regarding similarities with his previous venture ‘KGF’ in terms of the color palette, Neel clarified that the resemblance was unintentional. He emphasized that ‘Salaar’ stands distinct from ‘KGF’ and reiterated that the similarity in visual tones wasn’t a deliberate choice but a reflection of his desire to depict the dark and gritty world inhabited by the characters. The director humorously admitted his unintentional obsession with monochrome, a trait that even led to discussions about shades of black among the cast.
