Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi Set to Shift from Colors to Sony Over Creative differences’, Sources Reveal

Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi Eye Exit from Colors TV Amid Creative Differences: Sources

In a potential shake-up for Indian television, two of the biggest reality shows, Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi, are reportedly in talks to exit Colors TV and move to Sony Entertainment Television. This shift comes as a result of ongoing creative differences between the shows’ production house, Endemol India, and Viacom, the parent company of Colors TV.

Sources close to the development have exclusively revealed to Hindustan Times that discussions between Endemol India and Sony TV are underway. However, no formal agreements have been signed as of yet. The shift would mark a major move for both shows, which have enjoyed immense popularity and high viewership in India.

A Return to Sony for Bigg Boss

Interestingly, Bigg Boss first aired on Sony TV in 2006 before moving to Colors for its second season in 2008. The show, hosted by Salman Khan, quickly became one of India’s most-watched reality programs. Despite a decline in its TRP ratings in recent seasons, Bigg Boss remains a staple on Indian television, attracting large audiences and celebrity contestants year after year.

Khatron Ke Khiladi in the Mix

Similarly, Khatron Ke Khiladi, which has been hosted by Rohit Shetty, has been a mainstay on Colors TV for over a decade. Based on the American show Fear Factor, Khatron Ke Khiladi has consistently delivered high ratings, with thrilling stunts and celebrity participants keeping audiences glued to their screens.

Both shows have been produced by Endemol India, which has worked closely with Viacom’s Colors TV for years. However, sources claim that creative differences between the channel and the production house have led to the decision to explore other options, including a possible move to Sony TV.

What Does This Mean for Colors TV?

Should Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi officially move to Sony, it would be a significant blow to Colors TV. These shows have long been part of the channel’s identity, and their departure would create a void in its reality programming lineup. Bigg Boss, in particular, has been a cornerstone of Colors’ success, and its move could have serious implications for the channel’s viewership.

While talks between Endemol and Sony TV are still in progress, it remains to be seen whether the deal will go through or if the shows will continue their association with Viacom’s Colors TV.

Both Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi have consistently featured high-profile celebrity contestants and have garnered substantial viewership. It will be interesting to see how the shift, if finalized, impacts the future of these beloved reality shows and the TV channels they call home.

As of now, fans of both shows will have to wait for official announcements to see where these blockbuster reality shows will land next.
