Actor Aadar Jain has finally addressed the controversy surrounding his ‘time pass’ comment, which sparked speculations about his past relationship with actress Tara Sutaria. The remark, made during his pre-wedding festivities with Alekha Advani, led to various assumptions and interpretations. In an interview with Times of India, Aadar clarified that his words were misconstrued and that the ensuing controversy has been unfair to him, Alekha, and Tara.
Aadar Addresses the Controversy
Aadar emphasized that false narratives and assumptions have been made without fact-checking. He expressed concern over how people freely fabricate stories, affecting not only him but also his family and those involved.
“There are so many false narratives, false assumptions, but no fact-checkers. Unfortunately, when people make up stories and say certain things, the people who get affected are the people involved and their families. It’s unfair for her (Alekha), me, and even Tara and our families,” Aadar stated.
Clarifying His Statement
Aadar stressed that his comment had been taken out of context and that he never intended to disrespect anyone. He insisted that his words were twisted and wrongly linked to Tara Sutaria.
“Whatever’s been written, there is no truth behind any of it. People misconstrued what I said and took just a few seconds of it, forming their own opinions. My parents have always taught me to respect my past, my present, and now my future. I would never direct such remarks toward anyone,” he said.
Alekha Advani Reacts
Alekha Advani, Aadar’s wife, also spoke on the controversy, expressing disappointment over how the comment was misrepresented. She stated that even Tara Sutaria knows the truth about Aadar’s long-standing friendship with her.
“It became this whole other narrative, which was not really fair or nice. Even she (Tara) knows that we (Aadar and I) have been friends for so long. This whole story is baseless,” Alekha added.
What Aadar Originally Said
The controversy began when a video clip of Aadar’s wedding speech went viral. In the speech, he professed his love for Alekha, joking about how he had been waiting for her for 20 years while spending four years in ‘time pass’ before finally getting the chance to be with her.
“I have always loved her since then, and I have always wanted to be with her but never got a chance. So she sent me on this long journey of 20 years through time pass. But at the end of the day, it was worth the wait because I get to marry this beautiful woman,” Aadar had said.
Aadar and Tara’s Relationship
Aadar Jain and Tara Sutaria were in a relationship for a few years before parting ways in 2023. Their breakup had remained amicable, with both maintaining mutual respect for each other. Addressing his past, Aadar concluded, “Things don’t work out for a reason. That doesn’t mean you start saying things about people.”
