Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated film Vettaiyan continues to impress at the box office, recording a notable spike in collections on its second Saturday. On Day 10, the film garnered an estimated ₹4.25 crore across all languages, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹129 crore, according to reports from Sacnilk.

On October 19, the cop drama showcased a solid Tamil occupancy rate of 26.60%, indicating strong audience interest. Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Lyca Productions, has been released in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.

This film marks a historic reunion of two cinematic legends—Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan—who last shared the screen in the 1991 classic Hum, making their return together after 33 years. Ahead of the release, Lyca Productions generated excitement by unveiling an intense poster featuring both stars, showcasing Rajinikanth in a striking police uniform and Amitabh Bachchan in a sleek suit. The serious expressions of the actors captured the attention of fans eagerly anticipating their on-screen chemistry.

Amitabh Bachchan also took to Instagram to share a heartfelt moment with Rajinikanth, expressing his admiration for the South superstar. “It’s an honour to work alongside the revered Thala Rajinikanth once more,” he wrote, accompanied by a photo of the two embracing. Bachchan praised Rajinikanth’s humility and simplicity, which he noted remain unchanged despite the immense success the actor has achieved.

Vettaiyan features an engaging storyline, with Rajinikanth playing a retired police officer known for his confrontations with criminals as he fights against a corrupt system. Amitabh Bachchan portrays Justice Dr. Sathyadev Bramhadutt Pande, a character from the National Human Rights Commission of India. The film also stars Fahadh Faasil as Cyber Patrick Battery, Rana Daggubati as Natraj Nat Shanmugam, Manju Warrier as Thara Athiyan, and Ritika Singh as ASP Roopa Kiran.
