Rajinikanth Issues First Statement Post-Hospital Discharge, Expresses Deep Gratitude and Feeling “Truly Touched”

Rajinikanth Expresses Gratitude After Hospital Discharge: "Truly Touched" by Support

Superstar Rajinikanth has made his first public statement following his discharge from the hospital, where he underwent a planned medical procedure to address swelling in his aorta. The 73-year-old actor was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on September 30 and was treated using a non-surgical transcatheter method. He was discharged on Friday.

In a heartfelt message shared on X (formerly Twitter), Rajinikanth expressed his deep gratitude to his well-wishers, friends, and fans for their prayers and support during his recovery. He wrote in Tamil, translating to:
“To all my political friends who wished me a speedy recovery, to all my film fraternity friends, to all my well-wishers, the press and media, my sincere thanks to you all. And to the fans who have made me, who keep me alive and love me immeasurably, praying for my well-being. I express my sincere gratitude to you all.”

Rajinikanth also took a moment to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan for their concern about his health. He said, “My dear honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji… my heartfelt thanks to you for your care and concern regarding my health and checking on me personally. Thank you @SrBachchan ji for your love and showing such warm concern towards me… truly touched.”

Professional Endeavors

On the professional front, Rajinikanth was last seen in Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, where he made a cameo appearance. The film features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles. Last year, he starred in Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, which was well-received by audiences.

Fans are eagerly awaiting Rajinikanth’s next major project, Coolie, which has recently released a teaser showcasing the actor in an action-oriented role. In the film, he is seen taking on adversaries with a belt made of gold watches. The film is produced by Kalanidhi Maran’s Sun Pictures.

Additionally, Rajinikanth will star in Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel. This film marks the much-anticipated reunion of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan after 33 years and also features actors like Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Ritika Singh. The cast has recently completed dubbing their parts, and the film will see Anirudh Ravichander composing the music, marking his fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth.

As Rajinikanth continues to recuperate, fans and the film fraternity alike look forward to his upcoming projects and a triumphant return to the silver screen.
