Megastar K. Chiranjeevi has made history by being recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most prolific star in the Indian film industry in the actor/dancer category. The announcement was made during an event on Sunday, where the Guinness World Records certificate was presented to him.
A Landmark Achievement
According to the certificate issued by Guinness, “The most prolific film star in Indian Film Industry—actor/dancer is Konidela Chiranjeevi, aka Mega Star (India), achieved on 20 September 2024.” This remarkable recognition comes after an illustrious career spanning over 45 years, during which Chiranjeevi has performed 24,000 dance moves in 537 songs across 156 films.
“This moment is unforgettable. I never sought recognition from the Guinness World Records, but it feels incredible to be honored for my dancing,” Chiranjeevi expressed, acknowledging the role dance has played in his career. He reflected on his early experiences, recalling his first dance steps in front of legends like Savitri and emphasizing the contributions of directors, producers, and choreographers in showcasing his dance performances.
Celebrated by Peers and Officials
The event also featured the presence of notable personalities, including superstar Aamir Khan, who expressed admiration for Chiranjeevi, calling him his “elder brother.” Khan praised the megastar’s passion for dance, stating, “If you notice him in any song of his, ‘his own heart’ is in it, and he is enjoying himself.”
Various dignitaries, including Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy, and BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao, extended their congratulations to Chiranjeevi. Reddy remarked on social media, “It is a matter of pride for Telugu people that popular movie actor Konidela Chiranjeevi got a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.”
Kishan Reddy also celebrated the achievement, noting, “Megastar for a reason! Congratulations to one of the most admired Indian film stars Sri K Chiranjeevi Garu on being recognized as the Most Prolific Film Star in Indian Film Industry, Actor/Dancer. This is simply incredible!”

Chiranjeevi, who debuted on September 22, 1978, is celebrated for his extensive contributions to Telugu cinema, having starred in over 150 feature films in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada. Some of his iconic films include Rudra Veena, Indra, Tagore, Swayam Krushi, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Stalin, and Gang Leader.
In May 2024, he was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honor, recognizing his exceptional service to Indian cinema. This latest accolade from Guinness World Records further cements his legacy as a trailblazer in the Indian film industry.
