Tom Cruise Moves Back to the U.S. After Five Years in the U.K., Excited to Reconnect with Family and Friends

After spending the last five years living in the United Kingdom, Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is preparing to return to the United States. The Mission: Impossible actor had made Britain his home base while working on multiple film projects, including the latest instalments of the Mission: Impossible franchise. With filming for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part II now complete, Cruise is reportedly eager to move back to the U.S.

According to a source who spoke to The Sun, “Tom has made the UK his home for five years and he absolutely loves it here.” The actor, known for his love of adventure and fast-paced filming schedules, had even invested heavily in a penthouse in central London, making it his residence during the production of Dead Reckoning Parts I and II.

However, Cruise recently bid farewell to his British film crew before departing the UK. He was last seen boarding a helicopter in Battersea, signaling the end of his extended stay in Britain. “It was his base for Dead Reckoning one and two, and now that he’s done with the sequel, he is heading home,” the source explained. “The longer he has stayed in the UK, the more he has fallen in love with the country.”

Though his return to the U.S. marks the end of this chapter, Cruise is reportedly excited about reconnecting with loved ones. “Tom is looking forward to returning to the U.S. to be closer to his son Connor and his friends,” the source added, highlighting his anticipation for a reunion with family. While it’s likely Cruise will return to the U.K. for future projects, especially with more Mission: Impossible films potentially on the horizon, he is now focused on resettling back in his home country.

Cruise’s move back to the U.S. coincides with the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, which has ravaged several states. His apartment complex in Clearwater, Florida, was directly in the storm’s path. Reports suggest that Cruise had been visibly concerned during recent sightings in London, as the hurricane caused widespread destruction in Florida, particularly in St. Lucie County, where over 100 homes were destroyed. Millions of residents across the state were forced to evacuate in response to the storm’s devastating impact. Cruise has owned his Clearwater apartment since 2016 and enjoys its proximity to the international headquarters of the Church of Scientology.

Despite his long-term stay in the U.K., Cruise had previously expressed his affection for the country. In an earlier interview with The Sun, the Top Gun actor said, “I spend a lot of time in Britain, and that’s not just for work reasons. I just love being here.”
