Tishaa Kumar, daughter of renowned film producer Krishan Kumar and cousin of T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, passed away on Thursday after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was in her early twenties. The Kumar family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
A spokesperson from T-Series confirmed the tragic news in a statement, “Tishaa Kumar, daughter of Krishan Kumar, passed away yesterday after a prolonged battle with an illness.” The family’s statement further added, “This is a difficult time for the family, and we kindly request that the family’s privacy is respected.”
Tishaa was diagnosed with cancer and was receiving treatment in Germany. A source close to the family told The Indian Express, “Tishaa was just 21. She was diagnosed with cancer, and the family decided to take her to Germany for treatment. She passed away there on Thursday. It is a very sad time for the family.”
Tishaa Kumar was last seen at the premiere of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal in Mumbai last year, a rare public appearance amid her health struggles.
Her father, Krishan Kumar, is a former actor known for his roles in films like Aaja Meri Jaan, Kasam Teri Kasam, Shabnam, and Bewafa Sanam. His last onscreen appearance was in the 2000 film Papa The Great. As a producer, Krishan Kumar has been associated with several successful projects including Ready, Lucky: No Time for Love, Airlift, Satyameva Jayate, Tanhaji, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, and Thappad. His most recent project was Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2023 release Animal.
Tishaa’s mother, Tanya Singh, is the daughter of composer Ajit Singh and sister of actress Nattasha Singh.
