Tina Ahuja, daughter of Bollywood star Govinda, recently opened up about her relationship with the actor, shedding light on her childhood and how she grew to understand her father as a professional in the film industry. In a candid conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Tina shared her personal insights into growing up with a father who was often away due to his demanding career.
According to Tina, Govinda was “hardly around” when she was growing up, as his busy work schedule kept him away from home for extended periods. “People don’t know this, but my dad has hardly come to my school. In my school days, my dad was never around. It was always my mom getting our lunch, going for those [events]… He was hardly there,” Tina revealed. She explained that during her school years, Govinda was often away shooting in locations like Hyderabad or Switzerland, which meant that her mother had to manage most of the responsibilities at home.
However, Tina shared that this absence led her to develop a deeper understanding of her father’s work and the dedication required in his profession. “This was one way of me getting to know my dad well. I started really liking working with dad. People started giving me extra attention and importance… I had a company, we were doing lots of shows and events with him… Just being busy around him, head to toe,” she recalled, describing how her connection with him grew stronger through their shared work experiences.
When asked about her media-shy personality, Tina expressed her preference for privacy. “I honestly like to keep myself away. Mujhe aisa lagta hain ki agar ap koi project kar rahe ho tab ap interviews do, spotted ho toh tab maza bhi aata hain. That is what I feel. For no reason getting spotted, I think somewhere takes away your privacy, which I do not like,” she explained. She clarified that while she is open to interviews and media attention when she is working on a project, she values her personal space outside of that context.
Tina Ahuja made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with Second Hand Husband, starring Gippy Grewal and Dharmendra. Since then, she has continued to explore opportunities in the industry.
In related news, Govinda recently made headlines for his appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, where he reconciled with comedian Krushna Abhishek after a seven-year-long feud. The reconciliation followed Krushna’s visit to Govinda after his hospitalization in October, when the actor suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
