HanuMan, the latest superhero film directed by Prasanth Varma and starring Teja Sajja, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Amritha Aiyer, and Vinay Rai, made an impressive debut at the box office on its first day of release. As per early estimates reported by Sacnilk.com, the film garnered nearly ₹8 crore on its opening day.
According to the box office report, HanuMan raked in ₹7.56 crore nett in India on day one, encompassing all languages. The Telugu version contributed ₹5.50 crore nett, while the Hindi version earned ₹2 crore nett. In other languages, the film earned ₹6 lakh, as per early estimates. PrimeShow Entertainment produced the film.
Teja Sajja, the lead actor, expressed his excitement about HanuMan, describing the superhero sci-fi film as a thrilling experience. In an interview with ANI, he shared, “The very idea of doing a superhero film is very exciting for me, has been exciting throughout the process. In this film, a young boy gets superpowers by the grace of Lord Hanuman and then how he fights for his people and his religion.”
He further explained, “This film has superhero action sequences for the entertainment of children and a lot of comedy. At the same time, its our history, is also connected with the superhero element. We’ve tried to blend in our Indian ‘itihaas’ with the superhero concept so it’s a very entertaining film.”
The Hindustan Times review of HanuMan highlighted the film’s gradual build-up, generating humor through characters like Srinu, Satya, and a monkey named Koti. The narrative gains momentum as Hanumanthu, played by Teja Sajja, discovers his superpowers and embarks on an entertaining journey.
HanuMan’s trailer, released in December, received positive responses for its portrayal of an ordinary individual acquiring superpowers and confronting a formidable super villain. The film, presented by RKD Studios and produced by PrimeShow Entertainment, aims to captivate audiences across diverse cultures and regions with its pan-India, multilingual appeal.
