Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been arrested in connection with a murder case, leading his wife, Vijayalakshmi, to appeal to his fans for calm and support. On Wednesday, she took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message and a fan art, calling the actor’s supporters “celebrities” and expressing gratitude for their unwavering support during this challenging time.
“Call for all our celebrities. You all know how much Darshan loves you. It is sad that we are in this situation today and that we have to stay at a distance from him. I have spoken to him in detail about the situation outside and it has touched his heart,” Vijayalakshmi wrote.
She conveyed Darshan’s message, urging his fans to remain calm and focus on positive actions. “Darshan has urged all his celebrities to stay calm and focus on doing good deeds. He is sure that he will be a part of your prayers,” she said.
Expressing faith in the judicial system, Vijayalakshmi added, “We have immense faith in the judicial system of our nation and am sure there will be brighter days ahead. I firmly believe that those attempting to harm Darshan through words/action during his absence will be taken care of by Mother Chamundeshwari.”
She concluded by encouraging fans to keep supporting Darshan, saying, “Your being calm will be our biggest strength. This too shall pass. Truth will Triumph.”
The case involves the alleged murder of Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old fan of Darshan, whose body was discovered near a stormwater drain next to an apartment in Sumanahalli, Bengaluru, on June 9. According to police sources, Renukaswamy had sent obscene messages to Darshan’s friend, Pavithra Gowda, which allegedly enraged the actor, leading to the murder.
Darshan and 16 others, including Gowda, have been named as accused in the case and are currently in judicial custody.
