Shweta Singh Kirti, the sister of the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has taken an indirect swipe at his former girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, in response to recent statements made by the actress. In an Instagram post on Saturday, Shweta questioned Rhea’s actions of “blaming the person who has passed on” and wondered how she would answer to her own conscience.
Following Sushant Singh Rajput’s tragic death, his father lodged an alleged abetment to suicide case against Rhea Chakraborty, which led to a series of legal and media developments.
Shweta shared a series of old photographs of Sushant, capturing moments when he interacted with children and fans. The final image in the collection was a close-up of Sushant smiling. In her caption, Shweta wrote, “Blaming the person who has passed on… who can’t defend himself anymore. I wonder what answer will you give to your conscience!”
She went on to emphasize her brother’s pure heart and the enduring impact he has had on countless people. Shweta stated, “My bhai (brother) had a pure heart and he is beating in the hearts of millions. We don’t feel the need to come out and say anything because people can feel the truth. Bhai was, Bhai is, and will always be our pride! The kind of love he has stirred in every heart… Will never die!! We will relentlessly fight for his justice.” She accompanied her message with the hashtags #JusticeForSushant and #SushantSinghRajput.
In a recent interview with India Today, Rhea Chakraborty had made various comments about Sushant Singh Rajput. She remarked on his career, stating, “Unfortunately, even today, if some man is successful and he gets married and his success ratio drops, they will say dekho jab se ye zindagi mein aayi tab se ye iska career kharab ho gaya hai (his career was affected from the time she came into his life).”
Rhea also discussed the challenges faced by celebrities regarding mental health, highlighting that it can be difficult for people to accept that individuals who are wealthy and famous may also struggle with mental health issues.
Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020, which prompted investigations and legal actions. Rhea Chakraborty faced accusations related to his death and was also involved in a drugs-related probe. She was subsequently granted bail by the Bombay High Court in connection with the drugs-related cases.
