"Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' Soars Globally: Crosses ₹458.69 Crores Worldwide in 24 Days"

In a resounding success, Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial venture “Dunki,” starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, and Vicky Kaushal, has made a substantial mark on the global box office, amassing a staggering ₹458.69 crores worldwide in its 24-day run. The film, which premiered on December 21 last year, has experienced a rollercoaster journey at the box office, capturing attention and stirring discussions among audiences.

According to Sacnilk.com, “Dunki” witnessed an impressive performance in India, contributing ₹223.22 crores to its worldwide total. Red Chillies Entertainment celebrated the film’s success on their Instagram account, expressing gratitude for the growing love at the box office and emphasizing that the film continues to win hearts “qayamat tak” (till eternity).

Breaking down the box office numbers, Sacnilk.com reported that “Dunki” collected ₹160.22 crores net in its first week, followed by ₹46.25 crores in the second week and ₹15.4 crores in the third week. The film maintained its momentum with ₹0.55 crores on day 23 and ₹0.8 crores on day 24 in India, bringing the gross collection in the country to ₹267.50 crores. Despite fluctuations, the film exhibited an overall occupancy of 21.18% on Saturday.

“Dunki” delves into the challenging theme of immigration, with its title derived from the term ‘donkey journey,’ symbolizing the perilous routes people take globally to reach their desired destinations for immigration. Notable performances by Boman Irani, Anil Grover, and Vikram Kochhar complement the film’s narrative. Shah Rukh Khan, after a successful 2023 with “Pathaan” and “Jawan,” continues to shine in “Dunki,” receiving mixed reviews from both audiences and critics.

A review by Hindustan Times acknowledges Rajkumar Hirani’s signature style, describing “Dunki” as an emotionally charged film with a generous sprinkle of humor. Despite not being deemed one of Hirani’s best works, the film effortlessly captivates audiences, showcasing Shah Rukh Khan’s charm amid the challenging landscapes of Iran and snowy mountains, as highlighted in the review.

As “Dunki” remains in the spotlight, its global box office success and ability to strike a chord with audiences reflect the film’s impact, sparking conversations about immigration and human resilience.
