Shah Rukh Khan and his family are set to temporarily move out of their iconic sea-facing residence, Mannat, as extensive renovation and extension work begins on the property. According to sources, the Bollywood superstar has leased four floors of a luxury apartment in Pali Hill, Bandra, built by renowned film producer Vashu Bhagnani.
Temporary Shift to Pali Hill
Shah Rukh Khan’s company, Red Chillies Entertainment, recently signed a leave and license agreement with Bhagnani’s children, actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshika Deshmukh, who co-own the luxury property named Puja Casa.
Each floor of the apartment has a separate flat, and while it may not be as spacious as Mannat, it provides ample space to accommodate SRK’s security team and other staff. The superstar is reportedly paying a monthly rent of ₹24 lakh for the four floors.
Renovation Plans for Mannat
Mannat, a Grade III heritage structure and one of Mumbai’s most famous landmarks, attracts hundreds of fans daily, hoping for a glimpse of SRK. However, from May onwards, visitors will instead witness ongoing construction work as the actor’s residence undergoes a significant transformation.
In November 2023, Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, Gauri Khan, sought permission from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) to add two additional floors to Mannat’s annex, which serves as the family’s primary residence. The planned expansion follows amendments in Floor Space Index (FSI) regulations under the 2019 Development Control and Promotion Regulation (DCPR), which has allowed several high-profile individuals, including industrialists, realtors, and cricketers, to expand their properties in Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) areas.
Awaiting Confirmation
Neither Shah Rukh Khan’s manager, Pooja Dadlani, nor Jackky Bhagnani have officially commented on the move or renovation plans. However, sources confirm that the family will remain in Pali Hill for approximately two years while construction is completed at Mannat.
