“Sanjay Dutt Excluded from ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ Following UK Visa Denial Linked to 1993 Arrest: Report”

Sanjay Dutt Dropped from Son of Sardaar 2 After UK Visa Rejection: Report

Sanjay Dutt has been removed from the cast of Son of Sardaar 2, the sequel to the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar, following complications with his UK visa application. The film, which is set to be shot in Scotland, was to feature Dutt alongside Ajay Devgn once again. However, due to the rejection of his visa application, Dutt has been replaced by actor Ravi Kishan, according to a report by Mid-day.

Visa Issues Lead to Replacement

The decision to replace Dutt was influenced by the actor’s visa troubles stemming from his arrest in 1993. Despite multiple attempts, Dutt has struggled to secure a UK visa since his incarceration related to the 1993 Bombay bombings. The film’s production team discovered that Dutt’s visa request had been rejected, prompting them to find a replacement. A source revealed, “Ever since his arrest in 1993, while Sanju has travelled to the US, he has applied for a UK visa multiple times, but never got one. The Son of Sardaar 2 shoot would have been his first trip to the UK. However, after Ajay’s team found out that the senior actor’s visa request had been rejected, they replaced him with Ravi Kishan.”

Impact on Other Projects

The visa issue could also affect Dutt’s participation in other projects, such as Housefull 5, which is scheduled to shoot in London. However, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has opted to film Dutt’s portions in Mumbai to avoid any disruptions.

Background and Future of Son of Sardaar 2

Sanjay Dutt was set to reprise his role as Jassi, alongside Ajay Devgn’s Billu. The sequel was expected to continue the storyline with a new twist, including an antagonistic role for Dutt’s character. With Dutt now out of the project, Ravi Kishan will take on this role.

Dutt’s past legal troubles have been well-documented; he was sentenced to five years in prison in 2013 for violations related to illegal weapons. After serving his term, he completed his sentence in 2016. The actor’s visa issues have now created a new hurdle in his career, affecting his participation in major film projects.
