The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, continues to dominate even in its fourth week. Directed by Sukumar, the film was released on December 5 and has amassed a staggering ₹1141.35 crore net in India so far, while its worldwide collection has crossed ₹1700 crore.
According to Sacnilk, the film collected ₹12.5 crore net on its fourth Saturday alone. Its performance has been particularly strong in the Hindi-speaking belt, maintaining double-digit figures even weeks after its release. The film’s first week raked in ₹725.8 crore, followed by ₹264.8 crore in its second week and ₹129.5 crore in its third.
Actor-director Mohanlal, whose film Barroz is also playing in theaters, highlighted the importance of films like Pushpa 2 for the Indian film industry. Speaking to PTI, he said, “To make an entertainer and bring out a big success is not an easy thing. It requires a lot of patience and many other factors. It is a magic recipe and nobody knows the formula. Pushpa and films like that are turning the wheel of the Indian film industry.”
The iconic gesture “thaggede le” (I won’t back down) from Pushpa has transcended the silver screen. Indian cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy celebrated his maiden half-century in a Test match by recreating Allu Arjun’s signature move. He thrilled fans by turning toward the crowd, raising his bat, and performing the gesture. Reddy followed up his half-century by scoring a century, earning praise from Team Pushpa, who congratulated him on social media, saying, “A WILD FIRE Knock indeed!! Congratulations on your maiden test ton #NitishKumarReddy. #Pushpa2.”
