Thiruvananthapuram: Noted filmmaker Sajeev Elambal has been honored with a prestigious national award by Bharath Sevak Samaj (BSS), an organization under the national planning board, for his exceptional contributions to documentary filmmaking. He was recognized for his directorial excellence in two critically acclaimed documentaries, Gurudevan Murukkumpuzhayil and Snehardram.
Gurudevan Murukkumpuzhayil captures the historical importance of Sree Narayana Gurudeva’s Akshara Prathishta at Murukkumpuzha, while Snehardram offers an intimate portrayal of life at Kottarakkara Marthoma Jubilee Mandiram. Both works have been highly praised for their insightful storytelling and artistic depth.
Sajeev received the award from BSS National Chairman Dr. B.S. Balachandran during a ceremony at the BSS Auditorium in Thiruvananthapuram. A seasoned media professional, Sajeev’s career began in television, and he is also known for writing the script of the record-setting short film Kutti Daivam.
Hailing from Elampal in Kollam, Sajeev lives with his wife Suchithra and their son Ayush Krishna.
