The much-anticipated sequel to the beloved Indian sitcom, Khichdi, is all set to take the audience on a rollercoaster ride with the Parekh family. The trailer for “Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan” was recently unveiled, promising an epic adventure filled with laughter, action, and an array of cameos.
The trailer showcases the Parekh family in various high-octane situations, from romancing in the breathtaking Swiss Alps to engaging in adrenaline-pumping chopper rides. Fans of the original series will be delighted to see the iconic characters of Hansa, Praful, Babuji, and others embarking on a mission that spans diverse landscapes, including bustling cities, serene beaches, snow-clad mountains, arid deserts, and mysterious caves.
One of the most exciting aspects of the trailer is the appearances of talented actors Kirti Kulhari and Pratik Gandhi. Kirti Kulhari, credited with a ‘special appearance,’ reprises her role as Parminder from the first Khichdi movie released in 2010, titled “Khichdi: The Movie.” Her presence adds a nostalgic touch to the sequel, connecting it to the original storyline.
The trailer also features Farah Khan, renowned filmmaker and choreographer, in a cameo role as a don. Her playful question, “Tum logon ko pata hai ye kitna dangerous mission hai (Do you know how challenging this mission is)?” is met with the Parekh family’s expectedly comical response, “Nahi (No).”
However, the icing on the cake is the cameo by Pratik Gandhi, who gained widespread acclaim for his role in the series “Scam 1992.” In Khichdi 2, Pratik takes on the role of a chopper pilot, adding a dash of humor to the proceedings. His interaction with Praful, where he asks, “Aapko kya lagta hai (What do you think)?” and Praful hilariously replies, “Joota (Shoe),” is sure to tickle the audience’s funny bone.
“Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan” is created by Jamnadas Majethia and Aatish Kapadia’s Hats Off Productions, the team behind the original Khichdi series. The first season of Khichdi premiered on Star Plus in 2002, with a second season titled “Instant Khichdi” airing on Star One in 2004. The success of the series led to the production of the movie “Khichdi: The Movie” in 2010.
The cast of Khichdi is back with their iconic characters, including Supriya Pathak Kapoor as Hansa, Vandana Pathak as Jayshree, Anang Desai as Babuji, Rajeev Mehta as Praful, and Jamnadas Majethia as Himanshu.
“Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan” is jointly produced by Hats Off Productions and Zee Studios, and it is scheduled to hit cinemas on November 17, 2023. With the perfect blend of humor, adventure, and nostalgia, fans of the Parekh family can eagerly anticipate this grand sequel’s release.
