Kangana Ranaut has opened up about why she missed the high-profile wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, despite receiving a personal invitation from the groom. In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Ranaut shared that her younger brother’s wedding coincided with Ambani’s grand celebration.
“I received a call from Anant Ambani, and he is such a lovely boy,” Ranaut said. “He invited me to his wedding, but I had a significant family event that day as my younger brother was getting married. It was a very auspicious day for us.”
Ranaut also mentioned that she generally prefers to steer clear of high-profile film industry weddings. “I tend to avoid attending too many film industry weddings, but I wish Anant and Radhika all the best,” she added.
The Ambani wedding, which took place on July 12 in Mumbai, was a star-studded affair. It saw the presence of numerous celebrities, including Kim and Khloe Kardashian, John Cena, Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, Rajinikanth, Mahesh Babu, Yash, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Vicky Kaushal, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif, among others.
Following the wedding, the Ambani family hosted several events, including a grand reception on July 14 and another for the media and employees on July 15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the blessing ceremony.
In her professional life, Kangana Ranaut is set to star in the upcoming film Emergency, where she plays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, which Ranaut also directs, explores the period of emergency imposed in India in 1975.
