Gangs of Godavari Day 2 Box Office Collection: Vishwak Sen’s Film Earns Over ₹8 Crore Despite Slight Dip

Gangs of Godavari Box Office Collection Day 2: Vishwak Sen, Anjali, Neha Sshetty's Telugu Film Earns Over ₹8 Cr So Far

Gangs of Godavari, the latest Telugu film starring Vishwak Sen, Anjali, and Neha Sshetty, has made a strong start at the box office, earning over ₹8 crore in its first two days. Produced by Naga Vamsi and directed by Krishna Chaitanya, the film saw a slight dip in earnings on its second day.

On its opening day, Gangs of Godavari garnered an impressive ₹5.2 crore. However, the film’s earnings fell to ₹3 crore nett in India on its second day, according to early estimates by Sacnilk.com. Despite the dip, the film has accumulated a total of ₹8.20 crore so far. The Telugu film had an overall occupancy rate of 25.89% on Saturday.

The Hindustan Times reviewed the film, stating, “Krishna narrates the story of Rathna, his rise to becoming Tiger Rathnakar and, soon, both the most dreaded and most wanted man in Godavari at breakneck speed. While this helps to hold your attention for 2-hours-26-minutes, it doesn’t allow you to feel for Rathna when his eventual downfall comes around. His confidante Rathnamala (Anjali) and wife Bujji (Neha) are his grounding forces, but the man admittedly remains a mystery even to them, let alone the audience. The film also touches on caste politics in certain scenes but falls short of going all in.”

Gangs of Godavari delves into the intricate power dynamics of Godavari, with Vishwak Sen, Neha Sshetty, and Anjali leading the cast. The film’s teaser showcased Vishwak in a new, rustic avatar, marking a departure from his usual urban roles. His character, Lankala Rathna, transforms from a petty thief to a powerful gangster and politician, making enemies along the way.

In a recent interview with The Times of India, Vishwak Sen expressed his enthusiasm for the role. “I play Lankala Rathna, a member of the tribal community who transforms from a petty thief to a powerful gangster and politician. This is the best role I’ve played in my career. I like to push the envelope and experiment with my characters,” he said.

The film’s music, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, has been well-received, adding to the movie’s appeal. Produced by Naga Vamsi, Gangs of Godavari continues to draw audiences with its engaging storyline and powerful performances.
