Deepika Padukone Reveals She Avoids Fad Diets, Emphasizes Balance for a Healthy Lifestyle

Deepika Padukone Shares Insights on Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle

Deepika Padukone, known for being one of Bollywood’s fittest celebrities, has opened up about her approach to a balanced diet and overall well-being. Currently expecting her first child with husband Ranveer Singh, the Gehraiyaan actress shared her thoughts on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

In a recent Instagram post, Deepika shared a picture of snacks and desserts, captioning it, “Surprised to see this on my feed? Well, I eat! And I eat well! Ask anyone who knows me. So don’t believe anything else you might hear or read. The trick? Balance, Consistency and Listening to YOUR Body.”

Deepika emphasized that the term “diet” is often misunderstood. “We often believe that ‘Diet’ means to starve, to eat less, and to eat all of the things we detest,” she wrote. “What ‘Diet’ really means is the total of all the food and drink consumed by an individual. The word actually comes from the Greek word ‘diaita,’ which means ‘way of life.'”

She further explained that she has always followed a balanced diet and has never adhered to fad diets. “I’ve never followed a diet that I cannot be consistent with or one that is a fad. Now, do I indulge? Of course, I do, as demonstrated above! But it most certainly isn’t my way of life. Ever heard the phrase ‘you are what you eat?’ If there’s one thing I’ve learnt (the hard-ish way) is that those words couldn’t be truer.”

Deepika’s approach to health is not limited to diet alone. She is also a strong advocate for sports, exercise, mental health, and overall well-being. Her mantra revolves around finding balance and consistency, whether in diet or workout routines. She believes in listening to one’s body and providing it with the necessary nutrition and exercise it requires.

“People should not starve themselves or deprive themselves of an occasional treat,” Deepika advised. “What I endorse is eating well in a balanced manner. It’s important to find a balance and consistency, be it in diet or workout. But more importantly, one should listen to their body and give it what it specifically requires.”
